Saved tours and comparisons
Saved picks and comparison choices are stored in your browser on your current device. They do not require an account and are not sent to Whitsunday Guide unless you deliberately attach them to a future trip enquiry.
Trip enquiries
If you send a trip enquiry, it contains only the name, email, travel dates, group details, priorities and saved picks you deliberately include. The submission is processed and stored by the site’s hosting provider so Whitsunday Guide can respond, and should be retained only as long as needed for that purpose.
Affiliate links
Outbound booking links may contain tracking parameters that identify Whitsunday Guide as the referring publisher. The booking provider applies its own privacy and cookie policies after you leave this site.
Analytics and cookies
Google Analytics 4 runs only if you choose “Allow analytics” in the privacy choices panel. It helps Whitsunday Guide understand which landing pages, tour filters, comparisons and guides lead to affiliate booking clicks or trip enquiries. Analytics consent is separate from the consent required to send a trip enquiry.
When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may set first-party _ga cookies and receive page, device, traffic-source and interaction data. Whitsunday Guide keeps advertising storage, Google Signals, ad personalisation and user-provided data collection disabled. Names, email addresses, travel dates, group details and free-text enquiry content are not sent to analytics.
You can allow, refuse or withdraw analytics at any time through in the footer. Refusing analytics does not affect the tour finder, saved picks, comparisons or enquiry form. Withdrawing consent stops future site-controlled Google Analytics events and removes first-party Google Analytics cookies that this site can access.
Google describes how it processes Analytics data in Google’s business data responsibility information ↗. Whitsunday Guide uses a 14-month event-data retention target so seasonal and year-on-year performance can be compared.
Hosting and aggregate traffic
Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes requests to deliver this website. We use Netlify Web Analytics to view aggregate pageviews, referring sources and approximate locations from server-side request data. Its unique-visitor metric uses IP addresses and is not a count of identified people. This reporting does not add analytics cookies or a browser tracking script and is separate from optional Google Analytics. Choosing “Essential only” disables optional Google Analytics, not hosting request processing or these aggregate reports. See Netlify’s privacy policy ↗.
